Update Regarding Incident in Nashua, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Nashua Police Chief John J. Seusing announce that additional information is available regarding an incident that occurred earlier this morning in Nashua, New Hampshire.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. yesterday, the Nashua Police Department received a call regarding a deceased adult female on the Baldwin Street Bridge.

Shortly after that female's body was discovered, Nashua police responded to a residence at 1 Hutchinson Street in Nashua. An adult male was reported to be inside that residence, alone, with multiple firearms and was refusing to come out. The Nashua SWAT Team was activated and responded to the area of 1 Hutchinson Street in an attempt to convince the adult male to come out of the house. The SWAT Team entered the home a short time ago and found the adult male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers fired their weapons during the incident.

Based on the investigation so far, it appears that the deceased male killed the female who was discovered on the Baldwin Street Bridge and then killed himself. Autopsies are expected on Monday to confirm the male and female's cause and manner of death. Their names are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The Nashua police will be working throughout the day processing the scenes and investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
