Shanna Pinet Sentenced for Unlicensed Practice of Naturopathic Medicine and Acts Prohibited under the Consumer Protection Act

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that Shanna M. Pinet pleaded guilty to one count of Unlicensed Practice of Naturopathic Medicine and one count of Acts Prohibited under the Consumer Protection Act, both class A misdemeanors. After a sentencing hearing in the Rockingham County Superior Court, the defendant was sentenced to 12 months in the House of Corrections, with nine months suspended, a $2,000 fine, all suspended, and 80 hours of community service. On the Consumer Protection Act charge, the defendant was sentenced to 12 months in the House of Corrections, all suspended, and ordered to pay $1,200 in victim restitution.

The evidence in this case established that between August 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021, the defendant, under the name “Dr. Fabianna Marie” advertised and provided the services of a naturopathic doctor in New Hampshire without the education, training, and licensure required of that profession.

The investigation was conducted by Investigator Fredrick Lulka and prosecuted by John Brown and Mary Stewart, all from the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
