Officer-involved shooting in Peterborough, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn, and Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard announce that an investigation is ongoing into an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Peterborough, New Hampshire, today.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:23 a.m. this morning on Route 136 in Peterborough following a brief police pursuit. The adult male who was being pursued was fatally wounded during a confrontation with police. No police officers were physically injured during the incident.

The deceased individual has not yet been identified. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow to determine his exact cause and manner of death.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are being investigated. No further updates are expected today.
