July 6, 2015 Officer Involved Shooting in Bath, New Hampshire

The Office of the Attorney General and the New Hampshire State Police have concluded their investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Bath, New Hampshire on July 6, 2015.

The Attorney General's report is attached Portable Document Format Symbol. The report includes twelve still photos captured from the videos from the body cameras worn by the two involved police officers; seven from Officer Collins's camera and five from Officer Jarvis's camera.

The still photos capture the moments when Mr. Hagen Esty-Lennon turned and charged the officers with his knife in-hand, and continue up to the moment when he was first wounded by the officers' gunfire. The blood seen in the photos on Mr. Esty-Lennon's shirt is not from the officers' gunfire; it is from the wound Mr. Esty-Lennon already had before encountering the police officers, which appears to be a self-inflicted stab wound.

The involved police officers and their counsel, and Mr. Hagen-Esty's family and their counsel, will be given an opportunity to view the video footage from the officers' body cameras on Monday and Tuesday, August 3 and 4, 2015. That is being done due to the graphic nature of the videos and out of respect to those involved. The videos will then be available pursuant to New Hampshire's Right-to-Know law, by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
