Homicide Investigation in Manchester, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Manchester Police Chief Enoch Willard, announce that an investigation is ongoing into a homicide in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Late this afternoon, an injured adult male was brought to a local Manchester hospital. That man was found to have a stab wound and despite emergency medical treatment, later died. The deceased's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. An autopsy is expected Tuesday.

Based on the information gathered so far, it appears that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another man in the vicinity of 385 Union Street in Manchester, at about 4:00 p.m. today. The assailant is described as a white male, approximately 5'7", with a thin build, "buzz cut" hair, and a tattoo on the right side of his face and/or neck. He was last seen wearing a leather jacket, gray or brown hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. The assailant is believed to have used a knife during the attack and may still be in possession of that knife.

The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
