Former Registered Nurse, Jennifer Oakley, Pleads Guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance

Attorney General Joseph Foster announces that Jennifer Oakley of East Corinth, Vermont, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Drug. Ms. Oakley admitted that while working as a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire, she diverted Morphine, a schedule II controlled drug, from her employer for her own use.

Oakley was sentenced to 12 months in the House of Corrections, with all but 4 days suspended for 5 years conditioned on good behavior. As additional conditions of the suspended sentence, Oakley is ordered to: (1) refrain from engaging in any form of medical or other patient care, including but not limited to nursing, in a facility, home care, or otherwise, for a period of 5 years; and (2) complete Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counseling and all follow-up recommendations. Oakley is also placed on probation for 1 year and is ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
