Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood announce that Emerson Figueiredo (age 43) has pled guilty to knowing second-degree murder for killing his wife, Nathalia DaPaixao (age 35).

On July 28, 2019, Concord Police responded to 911 calls from an apartment complex at 58 Branch Turnpike Road in Concord. Upon arrival, they discovered Ms. DaPaixao wounded and bleeding on the ground in the parking lot. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

An autopsy later showed that Ms. DaPaixao died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Mr. Figueiredo was arrested and indicted for second-degree murder for causing Ms. DaPaixao’s death. He pled guilty to knowing second-degree murder on November 6, 2020. The matter is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in the Merrimack County Superior Court at 9:00 a.m., on January 12, 2021. At that time, the State will argue for a sentence of 45 years to life in prison, and the defendant will argue for a lesser sentence.
