Car Restorer Robert Waller convicted for violating the Consumer Protection Act

Concord, NH – Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young announces that Robert Waller (age 67) of New Boston, New Hampshire, d/b/a Classic Auto Services of New Boston, LLC, pled guilty to a Class A misdemeanor charge for two violations of the Consumer Protection Act on March 5, 2021, in Merrimack County Superior Court.

Mr. Waller was prohibited from accepting a deposit or prepayment for labor related to his business by an injunction that was already in place by the Merrimack County Superior Court. The injunction also required Mr. Waller to create a written contract for new customers. Mr. Waller pled guilty to violating the terms of the injunction by accepting a deposit or prepayment for labor and by not creating a contract for T.B., a new customer.

The Court sentenced Mr. Waller to 12 months in the House of Corrections, all of which was suspended for 5 years on the conditions of good behavior, no contact with the victim, restitution of $3,846 to the victim, and compliance with the injunction.

Assistant Attorney General Gregory M. Albert of the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau prosecuted this case.
