Autopsy results for the suspect in the June 15, 2017, officer involved shooting incident in Newton, New Hampshire

Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner announce that additional information is available regarding a fatal officer-involved shooting incident involving Massachusetts State Troopers that occurred on June 15, 2017, in Newton, New Hampshire.

The autopsy has been completed on the deceased suspect, Michael Brown (age 40), of Presque Isle, Maine. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas A. Andrew has determined that Brown's cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the neck and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. As used by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Additional information is expected to be available after the Massachusetts Troopers are interviewed.
