Autopsy Results in Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation in Nashua, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall announce an update on the investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred last night outside a home improvement store at 143 Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The adult male involved in last night’s officer-involved shooting has been identified as Ryan Prudhomme, age 41, of Pelham, New Hampshire. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval conducted an autopsy on Mr. Prudhomme today. Dr. Duval determined that the cause of death was a single gunshot wound of the chest, and the manner of death was homicide. As used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing.  

The identity of the officers using less-lethal and deadly-force in this case will not be disclosed until formal interviews take place; this is expected to occur sometime in the next 5 – 10 days. The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain actively under investigation.
