Arrest of Brian MacDonald for the Murder of Cameron MacDonald in Manchester, New Hampshire in February of 2006

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Carlo T. Capano announce that an arrest has been made in connection with the 2010 death of Cameron MacDonald, an infant who was physically assaulted by, his father, Brian MacDonald in Manchester, New Hampshire in 2006.

Cameron MacDonald was 34 days-old when he was physically assaulted on February 2, 2006. He passed away on January 8, 2010. Following a comprehensive review of several years of medical records, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that Cameron MacDonald's death was a homicide, and that he died as a result of injuries he sustained from the physical assault in 2006.

Brian MacDonald, age 44, of Concord, New Hampshire, was arrested today based on a warrant charging him with one count of reckless second-degree murder for causing the death of Cameron MacDonald. The complaint alleges that Brian MacDonald caused the death of Cameron MacDonald by shaking or otherwise inflicting force upon Cameron causing him to suffer a fatal brain injury.

Hillsborough County Superior Court records show that Brian MacDonald was arrested in 2006 on first-degree assault charges related to Cameron's injuries, was found guilty, and was sentenced to the New Hampshire State Prison where he served an aggregate of 15-40 years, stand-committed.

Mr. MacDonald is expected to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Manchester Division, at 8:30 a.m. on July 16, 2020.

The charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
