Attorney General Michael A. Delaney and Manchester Police Chief David Mara announce that at approximately 12:18 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009, members of the Manchester Police Department responded to 911 calls from residents in the vicinity of the intersection of Wilson Street and Hayward Street in the city. The 911 callers reported gunshots fired in the area. When the police arrived, they found a deceased black male in the middle of the street on Wilson Street. The victim has been identified but his identity is not being dislosed pending notification of the next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.

Currently, the Manchester Police are investigating the matter as a homicide. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the Manchester Police Department at (603) 668-8711.
