Town Treasurer and Chairman of the Recreation Commission of Litchfield, arrested for Stealing Town Funds

New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte announces that Horace W. Seymour, III, of Litchfield, New Hampshire was arrested this date for stealing funds from the Town of Litchfield. Mr. Seymour has been the Town Treasurer since 2005. Seymour is charged with a class A felony of Theft by Deception for conduct that included submitting a fictitious invoice for more than $5,000.00 for the purchase and installation of equipment at the recreation building. The investigation is ongoing.
Seymour will be arraigned before the Merrimack District Court for the class A felony Theft by Deception.
Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte stated, “Unlawful conduct by elected officials erodes the important trust that citizens expect and deserve from all public officials. Any allegations of unlawful conduct by public officials will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted vigorously.”
