New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth and Alton Police Chief Philip Smith announce that an investigation is ongoing into the deaths of a man and woman in Alton, New Hampshire.

On Friday, February 15, 2008, at approximately 7:00 a.m., police responded to a phone call from a young female caller regarding the shooting of a man and woman at a residence in Alton, New Hampshire. Upon their arrival, the police found a male and female deceased in the residence. The young female caller was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation is still in the early stages and is ongoing. The exact nature of what took place this morning is still being investigated by the State Police, along with other related aspects of the incident. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting at this time, however the police do not believe that there is any danger to the community.
