New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth, and Laconia Police Chief Michael Moyer, announce that the autopsy of Stephen Grodske, who was 59 years old, was completed on January 8, 2008. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Andrew concluded that the cause of death was multiple blunt impact injuries to the head and body. He determined that the manner of death was homicide.

On January 7, 2008, Daryll Bifano, who was 36 years old, was arrested on one count of Second Degree Murder for recklessly causing the death of Stephen Grodske under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life. He was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. yesterday in Laconia District Court. He is being held without bail. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. at Laconia District Court.

The New Hampshire State Police and the Laconia Police Department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
