Update on the Officer-Involved Shooting in Thornton, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces additional information regarding the officer-involved shooting incident involving an adult male located at 66 Four Wheel Drive, Thornton, NH on Monday, October 19, 2020.

The adult male, Ethan Freeman, age 37, was shot by a Thornton Police Officer and died at the scene as a result of his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Mr. Freeman today, October 20, 2020.

No officers or other private citizens were physically injured during the incident. There is no threat to the public. Pursuant to protocol, the name of the officer involved in the incident is being withheld pending the conclusion of the formal interview.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
