New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert C. Quinn, and Lebanon Police Chief Gary J. Smith, announce that an investigation is ongoing in connection with an incident on I-89, which resulted in two fatalities.
At approximately 1:18 pm on December 7, 2013, Lebanon Police Department received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle collision in the northbound lane of I-89 just north of exit 18. Two individuals were found deceased at the scene in one vehicle and one individual was found injured but alive in another vehicle. That individual was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, where he currently remains.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Amanda Murphy (24) and Jason Timmons (29) of 35 Fern Street, Wilder, Vermont. They were traveling in the northbound lane of I-89 when their vehicle, a 2005 Ford Escape, was struck by a 2005 Red Chevy pickup truck driven by Robert Dellinger (53) of 28 Birchpoint Lane, Sunapee, NH. Dellinger's vehicle was traveling southbound on I-89 and then crossed over the median towards the northbound lane of travel, colliding with victims' vehicle.
Autopsies will be performed on Ms. Murphy's and Mr. Timmons's bodies today by the State's Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Thomas A. Andrew.
The investigation is continuing. The State Police are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal collision or has information about this collision to call them at 271-3636 or 223-4381.
