For Immediate Release
July 3, 2013
Laurel A. O'Connor, Assistant Attorney General
Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announces that the Board of Nursing ("Board") has suspended the licenses of Alexandra Hunt, RN, APRN of Center Sandwich, New Hampshire, effective July 3, 2013.
The Board's action is in response to the receipt of information alleging that between October 2011 and June 2013 Ms. Hunt falsified approximately 65 prescriptions by writing the prescription for a person who was not currently her patient, then picking up the prescriptions for her own use. The prescriptions included Oxycodone, Zolpidem, and Alprazolam.
On July 3, 2013, the Board issued an Order of Emergency License Suspension and Notice of Hearing. The order immediately suspended Ms. Hunt's license to practice nursing in New Hampshire. A Board hearing is scheduled for July 18, 2013, for the purpose of determining whether Ms. Hunt's license will remain suspended during the course of the on-going investigation.
