Attorney General Michael A. Delaney and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn report that they are currently investigating an officer involved shooting incident which took place outside 31 Page Road in Litchfield, New Hampshire at just after 2:00 PM today.
The incident began when uniformed Litchfield Police officers, nearby Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies and New Hampshire State Police troopers responded to a call of shots fired outside a residence on Page Road. Upon arrival, officers heard several more gunshots, and encountered an armed adult male, later identified as Jason Lagueux, age 35 of Litchfield, on the front porch of a residence. During the ensuing confrontation, Lagueux was shot by one of the responding officers. Lagueux was treated at the scene and then transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua, New Hampshire where he was pronounced deceased.
None of the responding officers, deputies, or troopers were physically injured during the incident.
The investigation is still ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 AM at the New Hampshire State Medical Examiner's Office.
No further press releases are anticipated until after the autopsy is completed.
