New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, State Police Colonel Robert L. Quinn and Springfield Police Chief Timothy Julian, report that additional information is available regarding the death investigation in Springfield, New Hampshire that was commenced on Thursday evening, April 19, 2012.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed autopsies on the two deceased adults on Friday, April 20, 2012. They have been identified as Clifford Pursell, age 20 of Bradford, New Hampshire and Lester Snide, age 23, of Springfield, New Hampshire. Lester Snide's manner of death was ruled a suicide as a result of a gunshot wound to the head. Clifford Pursell's manner of death was ruled undetermined, but the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
Based on the information gathered to date, including a note from each man, there are indications that Lester Snide shot and killed Clifford Pursell and then shot himself. The evidence suggests that Clifford Pursell and Lester Snide had been deceased in the shed located off of 4 Corners Road in Springfield since mid to late December of 2011.
