New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robert Quinn and Hillsborough Police Chief David Roarick, announce that an investigation is ongoing into an officer involved shooting incident which took place at 106 Sleeper Road in Hillsborough, New Hampshire today at approximately 1:15 a.m.
The incident began on May 19, 2011, when several police officers from Hillsborough and surrounding towns responded to a call regarding a family dispute at the Naroian residence at 106 Sleeper Road in Hillsborough, New Hampshire. Once at the home, the police officers encountered the three residents, two adult males and an adult female. A brief confrontation ensued between the officers and the adult female, who was armed with a handgun. During that confrontation, two police officers shot at the armed adult female and she was killed as a result. The woman who was killed has been identified as Shelly D. Naroian (age 47).
None of the responding police officers were physically injured during the incident and the other two male residents were also uninjured.
An autopsy is expected to be done today on the deceased to determine the exact cause and manner of her death.
The investigation is still ongoing.
