New Hampshire Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, and Manchester Police Chief David Mara announce that Molly Beth Martel has been arrested in New York for the murder of Stephanie Campbell, which occurred in Manchester on November 2, 2010. During the evening of November 3, 2010, Manchester detectives developed information indicating that Ms. Martel might be in upstate New York. With the cooperation of New York State Police and local police agencies, Ms. Martel was apprehended in the town of Kerhonkson, New York. Her car was also located there. Manchester detectives have traveled to New York to continue the investigation there. Ms. Martel is being held in New York on a fugitive from justice charge, pending a hearing on the issue of her extradition back to New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the Manchester police would like to thank the New York State Police and the local New York police for their excellent assistance in bringing about the arrest of this defendant.
