Homicide in Mont Vernon, NH

Attorney General Michael A. Delaney, Colonel Frederick Booth of the New Hampshire State Police, Mont Vernon Police Chief Kyle Aspinwall announce that at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009, members of the Mont Vernon Police Department responded to a residence located at 4 Trow Road in Mont Vernon. Milford and Amherst Police Departments also arrived at the residence in response to a request for mutual aid. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a deceased woman in the home. The matter is being investigated as a homicide. The woman's identity is being withheld pending notification to family members. An autopsy is scheduled for 9:00 a.m on Monday, October 5, 2009.

A 10-year-old female child was also at the home. She had several serious injuries and has been transported to Boston Children's Hospital. The child is currently in surgery at the hospital.

The Major Crime Unit, in conjunction with Mont Vernon and Milford Department, are continuing the investigation surrounding this incident. The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit is in the process of executing a search warrant at the home.

Based on preliminary investigation, the police are looking for two white males in connection with this investigation. One is described as a tall, skinny bald male wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt and the other is shorter. No further description of the individuals is available. Anyone with information about these individuals, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the vicinity of Trow Road, Mont Vernon, is encouraged to call New Hampshire State Police at (603) 271-3636.

In response to the incident, and as a precautionary measure, local law enforcement in conjunction with the New Hampshire State Police will be available in the area 24-hours-a-day, and the State Police will be increasing patrols in the Hillsborough County patrol area.
