Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte and Manchester Police Chief David Mara report that Chief Medical Examiner Thomas Andrew has ruled the cause of Arlene Lopata-Houle's death to be manual strangulation and the manner of her death to be homicide.
51 year old Gary Roy was arrested April 25, 2009 for murdering 50 year old Arlene Lopata-Houle in Manchester during the evening hours of April 24, 2009. Emergency personnel responded to 624 Rimmon Street in Manchester at approximately 5:52 a.m. on April 25, 2009, after receiving a report that there was a deceased woman at that location who had been killed by another individual. Police discovered the body of Arlene Lopata-Houle inside Gary Roy's second floor apartment. Police investigation has revealed that Gary Roy killed Lopata-Houle the previous evening. Roy has been charged with second degree murder for knowingly killing Arlene Lopata-Houle.
It is anticipated that Roy will be arraigned in Manchester District Court on April 27, 2009.
