Suspicious Death in Madbury, New Hampshire

New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Frederick H. Booth, and Madbury Police Chief Joseph E. McGann, Jr., announce that an investigation is ongoing concerning a suspicious death in Madbury, New Hampshire.

At approximately 2:10 a.m., the New Hampshire State Police responded to 25 Fitch Road in Madbury, New Hampshire. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Joseph Close, age 19 of Rochester, New Hampshire. Initial investigation revealed that Close became involved in a physical altercation at the residence, and several other persons were present at that time.

The State Police Major Crime Unit and Madbury Police Department continue to investigate the matter. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Monday morning at 11:00 a.m., November 17, 2008.
