Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte announces that Nathan Rivard, 27, was arraigned today in Candia District Court on felony charges of possession of the controlled drug methamphetamine, and attempted manufacture of methamphetamine. Mr. Rivard was also charged with driving after suspension, second offense, transporting alcoholic beverages, misuse of plates, and driver's license prohibitions.

Mr. Rivard was arrested on August 2, 2008, by the Candia Police following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation. Police later found a quantity of methamphetamine and several items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine in his car during a routine inventory search.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash-only, with a probable cause hearing to be scheduled by the Court. This matter will be jointly prosecuted by this Office and the Rockingham County Attorney's Office.

Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte said: "My office will continue to vigorously prosecute methamphetamine cases given the dangers that it poses not only to our communities but to our environment as well."
