Administrative Prosecutions Unit
The Administrative Prosecutions Unit, APU, is a unit of the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau of the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Justice. The APU was created in August 1994.
The primary function of the APU is to protect the safety and welfare of the public and to represent the public's interest in administrative disciplinary action against various licensed professionals in the State of New Hampshire. The APU investigates complaints of misconduct referred to them by the State Boards. If after investigation the State Board initiates disciplinary proceedings against its licensees, the attorneys in the APU act as Hearing Counsel for these proceedings. APU also provides some boards with investigation and prosecution support on a non-contract, per case basis as time and scheduling permit. Some Boards that have employed APU's assistance in this manner are: Podiatry, Accountancy and Funeral Directors. A complete listing of the State Boards served by the APU is listed below.
